Book Objects
These books can stand alone as a sculpture, or hang on the wall. They do not close like a normal “book”, and remain open so that the entire book can be viewed at once. The pages are attached to a metal rail system so that the pages won’t move.
The images are part of the “Chess” series, and are created using encaustics over paste painting and Japanese paper with ink writing attached with encaustic medium.
“Rook Book” was included in the recent book art show “ Book Forms” at the Conrad Wilde Gallery in Tucson, AZ. http://www.conradwildegallery.com/pastExhibit.html as well as “The Book Wide Open” at the Business of Art Center in Manitou Springs, CO.
“Rook Book” in included in “Wax and the Artist Book” by Catherine Nash, available as a download on http://www.papermakingresources.com/articles.html
