Inspired by words of war like crusade and battalion, as well as chess words like stalemate ad checkmate.  Pages are mixed media including acrylic ink, acrylic paint, and pencil.

     The art is on BFK paper as well as several kinds of Japanese kozo paper. The binding has  wood boards covered in Japanese paper with ink writing made to look like ancient ceramics.
